We are pleased to introduce Professor Annika Rickne as the new member of IICM2013 scientific committee

   Annika Rickne is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the School of Business, Economics and Law at University of Gothenburg. She analyses issues of entrepreneurship and innovation at various levels – within technology-based organisations, at the sectoral level, and within innovation systems – and draws conclusions for strategy as well as for policy

   Prof. Rickne interest is economic growth initiated by new scientific or technological knowledge,creating opportunities that reshape existing knowledge fields and industries orgives rise to the evolution of new ones. This involves issues of public policies as well as firm and university strategies and behaviour, of commercialization in the form of new firms or the diversification of established ones, and of globalization versus the role of regional arenas. Her research approach spans from, for example, case studies of researcher’s motives, through surveys of firm strategies and bibliometric studies, to interview based analysis of policy development on the European arena.We are fortunate to have been able to have someone with such experience and expertise

   Prof. Rickne's research deals with analyzing the evolution and commercialization of new technologies and industries and the related public policies.  Her previous projects include technology-based entrepreneurship, knowledge networks in the life science sector, emergence of technologies and sectors through global processes, and theoretical and methodological contributions to the innovation system concept. Ongoing projects of Annika involve governance of regional innovation system as well as of sustainable innovation, strategies for cluster formation, and commercialization of university based knowledge
