We are pleased to introduce Prof. Sonny Nwankwo as the new member of IICM2013 scientific committee

   Prof. Nwankwo is Director of the Petchey Centre for Entrepreneurship; Director, Noon Centre for Equality and Diversity in Business at the University of East London and the founding Director of the Black Business Observatory for London (funded by the London Development Agency). Previously, he was the Director of Research &Enterprise (University of East London), Inaugural President of the International Academy of African Business and Development; Vice President,Academy of World Business, among many of his professional affiliations

   Prof. Nwankwo developed his research in Marketing, with specialism in consumerism under conditions of market failure. His current research is however driven by a desire to extend the normative boundaries of his disciplinary home whilst simultaneously seeking new ways of bringing theoretical, policy- and practice-based research into symbiotic juxtaposition. In this regard, he focuses diverse and of tenculture-specific challenges of economic behaviour, and the power of individuals to create value and make choices in the marketplace both as consumers and entrepreneurs. Thus, from the broader field of consumer behaviour and its role in shaping identities and interactions, he extends his attention to the dynamics of entrepreneurship among the British ethnic minority population,particularly the entrepreneurial processes of Africans in the UK. His research in this area examines the relations between entrepreneurial identity and individual life histories in the context of everyday interactions

   Prof. Nwankwo holds several Editorial/Advisory Board roles in quite a number of academic journals,corporate board appointments, a recipient of the ANBAR Citation of Excellence for Highest Quality Rating and Visiting Professor at universities in across Africa, Europe – including the United Kingdom, Australasia and North America.He is a Chartered Marketer (among the first cohort to receive the personal chartered status), Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, FCIM; Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, FRSA, amongst others
